Both young & old enjoyed a magic show performed by "Louie the Magician" when we visited St. Olivers this morning.  Our class has just one more visit to St. Olivers.  We will be sad when this project is over.

16th April, 2018.

We held a very exciting table quiz in St. Oliver's this morning.  All residents, day care visitors, staff of St. Oliver's and our pupils keenly contested the quiz with the "Bay Utd." team taking the spoils on this occasion!  Another very enjoyable morning was had by all!!

12th March, 2018

We visited St. Oliver's this morning as part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge activities.  We entertained the residents and day care visitors with traditional songs and dance.  Our pupils who are part of the Dervla McGee Irish School of Dancing performed some lovely routines and Mr. Ryan our 3rd class teacher showed us just how talented an Irish dancer he is too.  Ms. Sloane's class sang some Irish tunes and Megan & Jade from 6th class also performed on the day.  Topping off a great mornings entertainment.  Mr. Quinn, Ms. Daly & Ms. Sloane played some traditional airs on fiddle, tin whistle and bodhrán.  The residents thoroughly enjoyed the morning's entertainment.

We visited our friends in St. Oliver's this morning and made beautiful framed word art with them.

We sang songs and chatted with our elderly friends!

We went to St. Oliver's again this morning and we held a table quiz.  It was impossible to separate the teams and all our elderly friends went home with a prize.  They were absolutely delighted!

We wish all our friends in St. Oliver's a very "Happy New Year"

December 18th, 2017

Santa joined us on our visit to St. Olivers this morning and we gave out almost 90 Christmas gifts to the residents and day care visitors.  We sang carols and Christmas songs and there was a great Christmas atmosphere in the hospital.  Ms. Sloane wrote a special song called 'Fairytale of St. Olivers' and the staff  and our friends in St. Olivers loved it.  We wish everyone in St. Olivers a very Happy Christmas and we look forward to visiting them again early in 2018.

November 27th 2017

We visited our friends in St. Oliver's again this morning. We made Christmas cards and played bingo.

They were thrilled with the prizes they won.  We sang a few songs.  Their favourite song was 'Jail House Rock'!!

John Byrne, well known G.A.A. stalwart & local musician accompanied us on our visit to St. Oliver's this morning.  John entertained the residents with a repertoire of Irish folk songs.  Thank you to John for a wonderful morning's entertainment at St. Oliver's this morning.

23rd October, 2017

We visited St. Olivers again this morning.  We organised a table quiz for the residents.  They were very competitive and eager to win our prizes!!  Each team made up a team name.  First prize went to "Bay United", with 59 points.  "The Pumpkins" with 58 points were in 2nd place while "The Musketeers" and "The Lilywhites" shared  3rd place.  The residents enjoyed the quiz and the songs performed by Ms. Sloane's class.

25th September 2017

Ms. Sloane's 5th class visited St. Oliver Plunkett Community Hospital this morning.  Excited and yet a little nervous the children met their "older friends" in St. Olivers.  Soon the nerves disappeared and new friendships between young and old were formed.  The children completed questionnaires and got to know more about the residents.  Then they sang a number of songs and played a few games of bingo to complete the morning's activities.  The children were a credit to Ms. Sloane, their parents and the school.  Thank you to our parent volunteers - Sinéad, Siobhán, Ciara, Joanne & Aisling for helping organise the activities today.  We look forward to our next visit on 16th October.
